(The Sun Erupted With an M1.2-Class Solar Flare from the Newly Assigned Sunspot Region 3030)
nemesis maturity
10.06.2022
Solar activity reached moderate levels. Newly assigned sunspot region 3030 just erupted with an M1.2-class solar flare. Radiation from the flare ionized the top of Earth's atmosphere, causing a shortwave radio blackout around the North Africa. Mariners and ham radio operators may have noticed unusual propagation effects at frequencies below ~20 MHz.
The sunspot responsible for today's blast has been visible for less than a day. Already it has unleashed 8 solar flares (seven Class flares and one M1.2-class flare). Future flares will become increasingly geoeffective as the active region turns toward Earth.
